Cheap places to travel

If you're trying to plan a trip this autumn, there are lots of reasonable options available, whether you want to stay in the United States and take a road trip to a National Park or go to Italy like the stars.

When worries about the Covid-19 stay unchanged, so any trip should include the required measures, such as vaccination, testing, and wearing a mask, to safeguard individuals you're going with as well as those who live and work in your destination city. However, once you arrive, there are several options to experience the outside scene while keeping your exposure and expenditure to a minimum.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Do you want to go full-on fun mode? The destination is Puerto Vallarta. You may swim at any of the city's crystal-clear public beaches or take a downtown street food walking tour to sample the city's fresh ceviche and churros.

Charlotte, NC

Visit Charlotte for the Revolutionary War-themed Charlotte Liberty Walk (Hamilton aficionados, this one's for you), and stay for the beer and art gallery culture. Immerse yourself in nature after a $5 beer yoga session by walking through the Anne Springs Close Greenway for a nominal cost. There is also a lot of live music and outdoor film screenings around the city.

Abruzzo Italy

Make your way to Abruzzo, Italy, for an inexpensive getaway with some of the greatest, freshest cheese (and wine) you'll ever taste (it's just around two hours from Rome if you chose to fly there). Because the area is hilly, the panorama is breathtaking at every turn. Stay at a farm stay like La Porta dei Parchi in the little village of Anverso degli Abruzzi to get the most bang for your buck. You'll spend less than 100 euros each night, which includes farm-to-table cuisine (you can see the sheep making the milk that will become your cheese).

However, you are not limited to simply eating. Rent a car and spend the day wandering around a mediaeval village such as Montesilvano Colle. Hike in a national park like Gran Sasso or Majella if you're feeling adventurous after all that wine and cheese (don't worry, there's a hamlet within called Fara San Martino nicknamed the "home of pasta" where you can stop for a break if you need more food).

Brooklyn, NY

If you're from the New York region, you might be considering a staycation. If you want to visit a less touristic part of NYC, Brooklyn can be a good choice. Basically, you're travelling to Brooklyn to eat: sample your way around Smorgasburg, which takes place every Saturday in Williamsburg and every Sunday in Prospect Park. Take a Brooklyn pizza tour for as little as $45 on Airbnb Experiences on any day you're not there.

White Mountains, New Hampshire

If you don't look at the leaves in New England, it isn't fall. The White Mountains in New Hampshire would be a great fall weekend getaway. This season, a hotel at the Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa with a view of the multicolored trees can be had for considerably under $300 per night. The resort collaborates with local farms to deliver fresh vegetables, meat, and cheese to your table.

You may also spend your whole vacation outside, thanks to rafting, state parks, horseback riding, and moose tours. You might even be able to go skiing or tubing if it's late fall and snowy enough.

Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica

Plant yourself in the center of the rainforest at Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica, for the total opposite of the weather spectrum. (Fall is also a wonderful season to visit this section of Costa Rica due to its proximity to the Caribbean, which is milder and drier than the Pacific at that time of year.) It's already a good value to travel throughout the nation, but it's much better for a health retreat.

Aurora, Alaska

Have you desired to see the Northern Lights for a long time? Because there is less sunshine and the sky darken at night, it turns out that mid-August to mid-April is the ideal time of year to observe them up close and personal. The longer you wait, the colder Alaska becomes, but if you carry enough of clothing, it can be a fun fall trip.
